How we began
Our story
Project 2000 International began with one belief: the earliest years of a child's life matter.
Originally inspired by the first 2,000 days of a child's development, our work focused on helping young children build strong foundations for learning, confidence, and lifelong success through family engagement and quality early education.
As the children we served grew, our mission grew with them.
We recognized that children continue to need opportunities to explore, create, discover their identity, and develop leadership long after their early years. Families continue to need support. Educators continue to need innovative resources. Communities continue to need culturally relevant approaches to learning.
Today, Project 2000 International is an education, culture, and community development organization serving children, youth, families, and educators in the United States, Ghana, Liberia, and beyond.
We believe children learn best when they can connect knowledge with culture, creativity, and community. Our programs bring together STEM, creative arts, literacy, storytelling, entrepreneurship, leadership, and cultural identity to prepare young people for an ever-changing world.
